The Class 155 electric locomotives were originally developed as the
Class 250 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. Between 1977 and 1984, a
total of 273 production locomotives were built by LEW Hennigsdorf.
Following German reunification, they continued in service with
Deutsche Bahn as Class 155 locomotives.
Even after DB AG withdrew them from service, a number of these
distinctive locomotives – often referred to as "power containers"
due to their angular shape – remained in service with private
railway undertakings. One of these is 155 213-2, which became part
of the fleet operated by IntEgro Verkehr and the Eisenbahn-Bau- und
Betriebsgesellschaft Pressnitztalbahn (PRESS).
