The Re 620 086 is an electric locomotive operated by the Swiss
Federal Railways (SBB). It features a blue/red livery adorned with
an off-centre "HOCHDORF" coat of arms. This model includes
finely-detailed etched components, such as ventilation grilles and
windscreen wipers, as well as square lamps and finely-spoked wheels
equipped with current collectors. In digital mode, it boasts light
functions that reflect Swiss prototypes.
The Re 6/6 series, to which Re 620 086 belongs, consists of
six-axle electric locomotives designed to replace the Ae 6/6 for
heavy-duty operations on the Gotthard line. First introduced in
1972, the Re 6/6 locomotives produce an hourly output of 7,850 kW
and can reach speeds up to 140 km/h, making them among the most
powerful locomotives in Switzerland. They were later reclassified
as Re 620 and received driver’s cab air conditioning starting in
2005.
