Created together with ROCO, an electric locomotive of the 1600
series shines with an eye-catching design. An attractive ambassador
locomotive has been designed featuring the “Tommie and Tess”
children’s books. Charming motifs from these popular books decorate
the sides of the locomotive and make it an absolute must-have for
every collector.
About the 9902:
Locomotive 9902 was delivered to the Netherlands State Railways in
1981 as the 1616. When passenger and freight transport were
separated, the locomotive was assigned to the NS Cargo freight
transport division. NS Cargo was later taken over by DB-Cargo. In
2020, the last locomotives of the 1600 class were taken out of
service at DB Cargo. The last six existing locomotives were sold to
RXP Tracte B.V., an asset company of the Railexperts Group. With a
nod to the already existing ex Locon 9901, the 1616 was
re-designated the 9902. The locomotive is used for the company’s
own transport and is also hired out to other railway transport
companies.
Railexperts is a provider of passenger and freight transport
services. It tractions special passenger trains and performs
locomotive and railcar transfers for third parties as well as
last-mile services in freight transport. The services also include
certification test runs and a 24/7 control centre that monitors
transport operations for different rail transport companies.
