To expedite traction changes, Raab-Ödenburg-Ebenfurter Eisenbahn
AG, a joint venture between Austria and Hungary, acquired six
standard-gauge locomotives in 1972, classified as the M62.9
substructure series. The M62.9s were based in Sopron and were taken
out of service in 1996.
