The increasingly popular transportation of powdered materials at the end of the 1950s, in particular of cement, made it necessary to procure new silo wagons. These wagons, which were used for the mass transport of bulk goods, were the property of cement and lime producers, and were listed as private wagons in the fleet of the Czechoslovak State Railways.
