The railbus set contains a motor wagon class 798 and a control cab coach class 998 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

From 1955 onwards, the DB hired more than 300 twin-engined railbuses for passenger transport on branch lines, along with almost the same number of control cab coaches and intermediate wagons. Those hardly differed in appearance from the railcars, reached a maximum speed of 90 km/h, and had a power output of 2 x 110 kW.
