When the main railway lines were essentially extended, the
advantages of the developed economic areas became apparent;
however, remote areas lagged behind. So the kkStB wanted to push
these regions and build "secondary railway lines". With the
construction of the unsophisticated local railways, many towns and
villages could be connected to the big, wide world.
