1964

The first 20x units are delivered in 1964.

There are 10 compartments, each with 6 seats convertible to 6 bunks. Each bunk has a reading light. One compartment is reserved for the attendant and the supply of pillows and blankets. There is a toilet with washbasin, and there are also three small washrooms with electric razor sockets. The coaches are equipped for steam heating and for electric heating with a choice of five voltages (the heating in each compartment can be controlled independently).

Originally, they are painted SBB green.

The 2nd & 3rd series of coaches, numbered 020 to 049, is built at the and of the 1960s.

These units differ in small ways from the first series, notably in the enlargement of the attendant's space at the expense of one of the washrooms. From the beginning they had loudspeakers, but no steam heating.

They are originally painted in SBB green.
