After being upgraded to reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h between 1987 to 1988, 19x modernised Bmz 21-70.0 coaches were registered as Bmz 21-90.0.

All remaining Bmz 21-70.0 coaches are upgraded between 2004 and 2009 to reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h and receive the new registration Bmz 21-90.0.
