1956

The first unit BFe 4/4 II 881 is delivered in 1956 and it was built for the SBB CFF FFS La-Plaine - Geneva line, an electrified line to the French 1.5 kV DC standard, making impossible the use of standard SBB CFF FFS rolling stock.

The second unit BFe 4/4 II 882 is delivered in 1957.

After the service on the La-Plaine - Geneva line is upgraded and branded Rhône Express Régional (RER), the 2x BDe 4/4 II were retired and replaced with new rolling stock.
