In the 1960s, the units Ae 3/5 10218 - 10226 were converted for use in
front of car trains. This included the installation of a remote
control, the replacement of the main oil switch with a compressed
air main switch and the installation of an anti-skid device . A
current collector had to be removed so that the compressed air main
switch could be placed on the roof.
