4/4II 11108 electric locomotive of the Swiss Federal Railways - SBB CFF FFS equipped
with AK69 automatic couplers installed for the Swiss Express
service. After the service is abandoned in 1982, all Re
4/4II electric locomotives dedicated for the service
are refitted with screw couplings.
The lack of EW III-compatible passenger coaches with control units
at the time of the Swiss Express service (units Bt 29-34 990 -
996 are converted from B 29-34
passenger coaches in 1985, after the end of the Swiss Express
service) meant a locomotive change was required at terminal
stations like the Zürich train station.
