1964

The 6x Re 4/4II prototypes are built in 1964 by Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works (SLM), Brown, Boveri & Compagnie (BBC), Oerlikon Machine Factory (MFO) and Sécheron Workshops (SAAS).

These units are registered 11201 to 11206.

These locomotives have only one pantograph, originally a scissor pantograph replaced later on by a single-arm pantograph on some units.

1967

The production series starts in 1967 and in the first batch 49x units are delivered, registered Re 4/4II 11107 - 11155.

The 6x prototypes are renumbered from 11201 - 11206 to 11101 - 11106 the same year.

1975

Units 11103 & 11106 are converted for the Swiss Express service and will continue to be registered as Re 4/4II 11103 & 11106.
