Original YouTube description:
More video of A.555, this time from just one day - May 16th, 1998 -
and just one train - 602 14:24 Athens - Dikea - which I travelled
on from Lianokladi to Thessaloniki. A.555 is special to me in a way because it was
the last of these amazing locomotives I ever experienced working.
This video is that moment. Not long after the Adtranz "things" took
over all the passenger services and the A.551 class quickly
became history.
A.555 is seen
arriving at Lianokladi, then pulling away from a pathing stop at
Stifaka and passing through many of the short tunnels in the Othris
mountain range toward Karia and Kallipefki. The train is seen
stopping and pulling away from Karia and then pulling away from
Paleofarcalos, with the metre gauge line to Kalambaka & Volos
visible on the left of the picture and sheep grazing between the
metre and standard gauge lines. An Inter City DMU passes, I think
this might have been IC61 13:25 Kozani - Athens. Finally, A.555 is seen at
Thessaloniki moving off the train and heading for the depot.
