ACME - Anonima Costruzioni Modellistiche Esatte
Operating from its headquarters in Segrate, near Milan, ACME has expanded its reach far beyond the Italian borders to become a premier European manufacturer in the H0 (1:87) scale. While Italian rolling stock remains its core specialty, the brand is now globally recognized for its extensive range of international express trains, including meticulously detailed models for German, Swiss, Austrian, and Eastern European administrations. Their design process involves extensive archival research and the recovery of original blueprints, ensuring that every rivet, vent, and livery variant is historically justified.
In the modern landscape of model railroading, ACME is positioned as a niche premium brand known for its "limited edition" production philosophy. Their models often feature intricate etched-metal parts, scale-correct undercarriages, and advanced electronics, catering primarily to experienced collectors and enthusiasts of modern and classic European railway history. Beyond rolling stock, ACME also publishes specialized railway literature, further cementing its role as a cultural bridge between technical modeling and historical preservation.
