1967

Following the delivery of the prototypes in 1964 (initially registered Re 4/4II 11201 - 11206), the production series started in 1967.

50x locomotives are built and delivered during the first batch:
- 49x units are delivered to the Swiss Federal Railways - SBB CFF FFS and are registered Re 4/4II 11107 - 11155;
- 1x unit is delivered to the Swiss Southeastern Railway - SOB and, as it is equipped with a different mechanical transmission (providing a lower top speed and higher traction), is registered Re 4/4III 41.

These units are very similar to the prototypes, except they are 10 cm bigger in length.
