1975

The 8x units from this series, dedicated to the Swiss Express service, are converted from Re 4/4II 11103 & 11106 and Re 4/4II 11108, 11109, 11112, 11113, 11133 & 11141.

One of the particularities of the Swiss Express service is that all vehicles always face the same direction. It is the case of the 8x Re 4/4II electric locomotives, the unique pantograph is always at the front when entering Zürich train station (this is also practical in the - very - rare case of double traction in order to prevent the pantographs being to closely together).
