On May 1st, unit Ae 3/6^I 10687 is involved in an accident in Villeneuve: while manoeuvring, it is hit head-on by railcar RCe 2/4 601 running at full speed. The electric locomotive suffers only minor damage while the light railcar is almost destroyed. 3 passengers are killed and many more (including the railcar driver) are severely injured.
